Hip Hop Education Tour Murcia – Spain

Nachdem wir bereits zweimal zuvor im Auftrag des Deutschen Konsulats und des Goethe Instituts in Barcelona waren wurde es in diesem Jahr Zeit für eine andere Region. Im Novemner 2015 machte sich eine Truppe von Tänzerinnen, Beatboxern und Rappern auf den Weg von Berlin nach Murcia – Spanien um dort eine “Hip Hop Education Tour” quer durch Schulen in der Region zu machen.

Es war eine grandiose Woche mit vielen lächelnden Gesichtern, vielen Emotionen und wenig Schlaf. Trotzdem gab es keine Probleme, Krisen oder Konflikte. Ganz im Gegenteil, die Gruppe hat sehr gut zueinander gefunden und ich habe keine Zweifel das ein paar der hier entstandenen connections weit über die Zeit in Murcia hinausgehen werden.

Wir möchten uns ganz herzlich bei dem Deutschen Konsulat in Barcelona, insbesondere Stefanie Pares (danke für deine grandiose Unterstützung) und dem Goethe Institut Barcelona (insbesondere Annette Guttman) für den Auftrag und das Vertrauen bedanken. Besonders hervor heben möchten wir Herrn Thietmar Bachmann (man munkelt das die Jugendlichen ihn “Big T” nennen) denn ohne ihn wären wir jetzt nicht hier. Ein weiteres Dankeschön an alle beteiligten Schulen, Lehrer und vor allem die tollen Schüler.

Vor allem aber möchten wir uns bei der Gruppe bedanken die viel gegeben und deswegen auch viel zurück bekommen haben. Wir denken die bald folgenden Bilder und die Video Dokumentation etwas später wird das sehr gut deutlich machen.

Jetzt geht’s wieder zurück in den Winter. Murcia du warst toll!

Since the German Consulate and the Goethe Institut already send us on tour in Barcelona twice before it was time for a new region this time around. Thus a group of dancers, beat boxers, and rappers made their way to Murcia – Spain in novembre 2015 in order to conduct a “Hip Hop education tour” in schools throughout the city. It has been an incredible week with lots of smiling faces, lots of emotions and little sleep. Nevertheless there were no problems and the group bonded very well so that I can confidently say we believe that some of the connections that were formed on this trip will last far longer than our time in Murcia.

We would like to thank the German Consulate – Barcelona (special shout out to Stefanie Pares for all of the support) for making this tour possible. The Goethe Institut (special shout out to Annette Guttmann). We would also like to give a super special shout out to Thietmar Bachman (word on the street is that some of our youth refer to him as “Big T”) without whom none of this would be happening. Another shout out to all of the involved schools, teachers and most importantly the awesome students.

Last but most definitely not least we would like to thank the group. They have given a lot, which is the reason they got a lot in return. We hope you enjoy the pictures and upcoming video documentary…
